Soft, thermoplastic elastomers featuring high elongation properties.

Dermasol is a series of soft, thermoplastic elastomers that feature high elongation properties. Thermoplastic elastomers, sometimes referred to as thermoplastic rubbers, are unique in that they combine the physical properties of rubber with the processing advantages of plastic. To mold Dermasol, it is heated to a temperature of ~350°F and then dispensed into a suitable, heat-resistant mold (e.g.,6061 aluminum or aluminum-filled epoxy molds).

Dermasol feels remarkably like human flesh and is especially useful for simulating human/animal tissue and body parts for medical and surgical training. Common end products include: medical models/surgical training aides, realistic body parts for prop making and special effects, soft crown protective halos and other protective parts, and specialty casts.
